Technical translations
Whether operating instructions, certificates, or other technical texts – technical translations require both translation skills and technical expertise. The technical terms must also be correct and used consistently. I can ensure all this.
The texts I work on come mainly from the fields of IT and private law. In cooperation with colleagues, I also cover other areas.
For efficient and cost-effective processing, I use various computer-aided translation programs that help ensure that your technical translation is accurate in both form and content.
Localization
For the international success of your software, it is necessary that the user interface and documentation are adapted ("localized") to the target country.
And the terms used must be used uniformly in the interface and documentation.

Machine Translation Post-Editing
Machine translations have now reached a remarkable level of quality. However, they still contain errors that can be amusing at best, damaging to reputation and costly at worst, and nullify the savings made.
In Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE), I edit your machine-generated translations so that they fulfill their intended purpose.
If your texts have not yet been pre-translated by machine, I will work with you to determine whether they are suitable for this purpose and handle all the subsequent steps for a successful MT translation project with the programs I employ.

Terminology Management
For technical texts, software, and MTPE, correct and consistent terminology is indispensable. Based on the existing source language material, I create and maintain terminology databases for you; they can be integrated into translation and localization projects and can also be used for communication within the company.
Terminology management is an upfront investment that pays off quickly, as projects can be completed faster and more cost-effectively with secure terminology.
Revision
I review translations for you based on the source text for content and language accuracy. Employing this quality assurance measure, I help to make sure that the translation fulfils its intended purpose.
Translation Memory Management
In addition to a terminology database, a translation memory is another building block for an efficient translation project. For this efficiency, it is necessary that the stored translation units are maintained and, for example, adapted to updated terminology. I can ensure this within the framework of translation memory management.

Proofreading
Whether translations or other texts: spell or grammar checkers often do not find all errors. With additional proofreading, I ensure that your texts receive the final linguistic polish.
